ABOUT

TOMOTERASU

We hope that people living and visiting Tomo will gather and spend time with smiles on their faces. TOMOTERASU was created with this wish in mind. Based in a revived Meiji-era townhouse, TOMOTERASU provides information on the attractions of Fukuyama Tomonoura, which has been certified as a Japan Heritage site, as well as local festivals and events that can be enjoyed by the entire town.

Tomo Machinami Revitalization Counseling Center

The “Tomo Machinami Revitalization Counseling Center” located on the second floor of TOMOTERASU was established to promote the preservation of the traditional townscape that remains in Tomo.
At the consultation office, assistance is provided with repairs and landscaping of traditional buildings in Fukuyama City’s Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and for requests for changes to the status quo in the traditional district, as well as consultations on the regeneration of vacant houses in Tomo Town.
As a consultation center rooted in the community, we promote the preservation of traditional townscapes together with residents.
